Schweers family to sell Alumeco Group
We are pleased to announce that the Schweers family, owners of the Alumeco Group, has entered into a share purchase agreement to sell 100% of its shares in Alumeco Holding A/S, including the Aluwind Group. Alumeco Group employs about 1,050 employees and is a leading Northern European distributor of semi-finished non-ferrous metals and specialized supplier of aluminium substructures to wind turbine OEMs. The buyer, Nordic Metal Holdings Inc, is a newly incorporated US holding company which is associated with and will be managed as part of Amari Metals, one of the leading processors and distributors of semi-finished stainless steel, aluminium and copper alloys in Europe.
Completion of the transaction is subject to approval by regulatory authorities, however we assume that closing will take place within the coming months.
Owner of the Alumeco Group, Hans Schweers & family, affirms:
I am extremely proud of our employees and their unwavering commitment, culture and values, to have led Alumeco to this very exciting development that recognizes the strength and success of the entire Alumeco team. Amari has great admiration for the company and its employees and I am confident that Alumeco will be in good hands with Amari.
Our new owners intend to preserve Alumeco as an independent and stand-alone group within the Amari family, and continue the strong collaboration we have with our existing customers and suppliers. We strongly believe that joining Amari Metals will offer great synergies to expand and strengthen relationships with all of our business partners.
We look forward to a continued good cooperation with our customers and suppliers.
